The Castle Bromwich Factory visit was much enjoyed by all those who attended.  Having gathered at 8.00am at the Barbon Inn for light refreshments, members were treated to a Luxury Coach for the journey to/from Birmingham. 

Upon arrival at Castle Bromwich we had time to admire the Jaguars in the reception area and look around the shop before viewing a short film about Jaguar's history.  Then we were split into 2 groups of 10 for the conducted tour of the new facilities which includes the XF production line.  We were issued with safety jackets, goggles and also earphones so that we could hear our guide's very informative commentary. 

I was especially impressed with the robots performing such precise movements, and also the logistics which ensured that all required components from suppliers arrived on the production line in the right place, at the right time and in the right order.   Each vehicle is produced on the assembly line to the specification and sequence in which the Order is received from the purchaser.

The tour took about 3 hours and then it was back on the coach for a bar supper at the Barbon Inn, after which most of the members had a long drive home.
