Club run to Newby Hall
With 8 cars meeting up on the A 69 to Scotch Corner, we had an "exhilarating run" meeting up with Brian Green at the corner and proceeding on to Newby Hall where more members joined the group. After parking the pre 1973 cars in the car park we entered and set up our gazebo's among a collection of the most splendid cars one could imagine. If you have not found the time to visit this annual show then you really are missing something very special. The display of the earliest known cars to the models of the early 70's was remarkable and even produced models previously unheard of (at least to some of our members that is).
With perfect weather and even more perfect company, all members had a great day out culminating with a run through Nidderdale, into Grassington and on to Skipton where we stopped for a welcome meal and an even more welcome local ale.
A long day out with one member covering over 300 miles on the day but it really was worth it. Many thanks must go to Keith Robinson who organised the day and liaised with the organizers of the Newby Hall Classic Car Show.
